Most rooms on Phi Phi Island have been designed for couples, as the island saw few children on holiday. Since 1999 the number of families has increased dramatically as hotel facilities have become more child friendly. There are however few options for parents who require family hotels. None at the time of speaking had rooms with connecting doors.
Princess and Cabana Hotel have suite rooms ideal for children though prices are top end of the Phi Phi experience. Phi Phi Andaman Resort, Phi Phi Andaman Villa, Phi Phi Don Resort (budget fan rooms) do have standard large room facilities.
Transport
Ferries are a first come fisrt serve bases. It is suggeasted that familes settle on the boats early.
Tours for Sightseeing, Snorkeling, Kayaking, Diving
There are large boats for diving, snorkeling and kayaking that offer toilet facilities on tours. Note Siam UK Travel and Tours 70 m from the pier has children masks and fins.
Play Station Games
Many internet cafes have computer games for the young at heart and the young.
Prams
Prams carry cots are more common a site than even 3 years before. The paths a cobbled stone. Large wheel prams go over sand and path the best.
Nannies
If you bring your own nanny there is no free accommodation from the hotels.
Powdered and Bottled Milk
It is recommmended you bring your own powdered milk to the island. There is milk but but without all the brand names of Phuket or Krabi towns.
Nappies
Simple and the most basic brands available. Bring from town.
Suncream
Suncream up to factor 35 can be obtained from stores and chemists on the island. For sensitive skin or children please bring your own. Phuket town has a good range ofsun creams.
Mosquitos
Sunset and sunrise there are Mosquitos. There has been no malaria on Phi Phi for at least 12 years. Dengue fever is an issue for those with poor immune systems. Healthy visitors very rarely catch dengue. osquito repellant is available on the island. People suseptable to mosquitos should wear cloths covering their legs at night.
Safety
Phi Phi is safe. Any problems have occured late at night where people have been drinking. Please use hotel safes or safes in your rooms
Health
The Phi Phi Hospital is a field hospital with basic services. A saline drip is available for serious problems but any emergencies are sent to Bangkok Phuket Hospital in Phuket by speedboat. The speedboat cost is always the responsibility of the injured and not the municipality. Be insured with medical evacuation.
